Surf heights are forecast heights of the face or front of waves. The surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average height of the one third largest waves, in the zone of maximum refraction. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.
This famed spot appeared in Endless Summer, and was donned Threes because it was the third named spot in Waikiki. The paddle out is long but that certainly doesn't stop anyone from joing the surfers convention. On rare days you may spot schools of dolphins making this spot magical and memorable.
Crowds: Whole lotta locals and during a swell you'll be lucky to catch anything.
Difficulty: Stay on the inside to catch smaller waves, but the outside may be a little quicker than your used too.
Hazards: There is a good patch of reff at the end of the right and yes the number of people makes it inherently dangerous.
Break: The right is what everyone goes for . It's a clean wall that has sections, and if you make the drop you can shred. The left is a little short lived but with all the people going for the other direction, it may just be more fun.
