Surf Zone Forecast for Oahu
  • Hazards
HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR EAST FACING SHORES
  • Forecast
Surf along north facing shores will be 4 to 7 feet today, lowering tonight, then rising again to 5 to 7 feet Wednesday afternoon. Surf along west facing shores will be 1 to 3 feet occasionally 4 feet today through Wednesday. Surf along east facing shores will be 5 to 8 feet today through Wednesday. Surf along south facing shores will be 2 feet or less today through Tuesday.
  • Outlook
Outlook through Monday Mar 15: strong trade winds are producing stormy surf near the advisory size of 8 feet on eastern shores. Surf may drop below advisory Thursday when trade winds begin to weaken. A northwest swell will likely produce advisory size surf on the north shore by early Monday. The surf will remain small along the south facing shores during the forecast period. Surf heights are forecast heights of the face or front of waves. The surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average height of the one third largest waves, in the zone of maximum refraction. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.

The Surf Report

Compare the surf reports from the top and most reliable sources.  We are currently featuring live feeds from Surfline, Wavewatch, and from our favorite, the scientists at the  NOAA.  You can even listen to the report broadcasting from the station in Honolulu.

Also look for the surfingdream.com update.  As soon as we get to the beach we'll be giving the skinny on the wave heights, the conditions, and the crowds.

Remember that all of these report wave face heights and they are not Hawaiian scale. Hawaiian scale are generally about half of what the face is.
